  • Answer: We are asking everyone to order monthly. A monthly supply will enable the warehouse to manage reorder levels and accommodate the entire University.

    Answer: Unfortunately, no. Due to supply chain shortages, we cannot guarantee specific brands.

    Answer: The form may be used by any IU individual and multiple orders may be placed by department. We strongly encourage you to coordinate ordering efforts within your department to ensure orders aren’t duplicated.

    Answer: Yes. The FireForm will be updated to reflect items that are not available as well as an estimate of when they will be available.

    Answer: We ask that departments estimate their allocated item needs on a monthly basis as much as possible. This helps ensure items are distributed appropriately and allows Purchasing to source replacement items appropriately. Also, Lab coats are not currently available via FireForm. If your department wishes to invest in lab coats, they may be purchased using BUY.IU.

    Answer: The quantity of gloves per box vary based on the size and brand available, and it’s not possible to list all of the different options that are in stock at any given time. As such, we’re asking departments to order the total number of pairs needed and that number is then rounded up to the closest per box quantity the warehouse has available. Example: An order of 30 pairs of medium gloves will be fulfilled with a box of 150 gloves (75 pairs) since the gloves come prepackaged in boxes of 150 gloves.

    Answer: We recommend you consult your RC Fiscal Officer. If your RC wishes to distribute charges to the appropriate accounts, multiple orders must be placed so that accounting information may be entered. If this is not a factor, orders may be combined.

    Answer: This is correct; however, it’s expected that Spartan Sani-Tyze will be approved as a product which kills COVID-19 in the near future. Purchasing continues to source additional cleaners which are rated to kill COVID-19, such as Oxivir, which will be available in late July.

    Answer: As of right now, suppliers will be providing us disinfectant spray (Non-EPA SAR-CoV2 Compliant and Compliant) that will be prepackaged in spray bottles. There is no need to return these bottles for refill. However, you may want to rinse the bottles out and keep them for a short period of time in case the supply chain is disrupted, and a prefilled option is no longer available. Remember: do not mix different chemicals in these spray bottles as it can be extremely hazardous.

    Answer: Yes. After you place your order, you will receive a confirmation email like the one below:



    This confirmation includes a summary of the items you requested on the form. Be sure to include your request number, highlighted above, when following up on your order.
